Sheet Metal Worker Job description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sheet Metal Worker for this full-time, permanent position.
The successful candidate will have strong experience working with stainless steel and must be able to expertly weld (MIG & TIG) and polish to a fine detail and consistent finish.
Familiarity with the operation of guillotines, press brakes and related sheet metal work machinery is essential.
We are currently only recruiting candidates that can slot straight into the team and strongly contribute immediately to our high-end projects for the food & pharmaceutical industry.
Typical projects include the fabrication of pump skids, conveyors, pipework, tanks, vessels, trolleys, sinks, sanitary-ware and the fabrication of our internationally exported screw feeder pump systems.

Requirements:
- You must be highly skilled in stainless steel metal work and, ideally, have adequate experience.
- You must be familiar with common sheet metal work machinery including CNC press brake & guillotine (folding, cutting, welding and polishing).
- You must be able to TIG & MIG weld and polish stainless-steel to achieve a crevice free finish.
- You must have the ability to fabricate sanitary pipework, jacketed pipework (purged).
- You must be able to read drawings and carry out instructions with minimum supervision – taking a job from concept to completion.
- You must have strong ‘marking off’ skills.
- You must be skilled, flexible, focused & efficient.
- You must be fluent in English.
- You must be authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
- You should have a UK driving licence (preferably clean).
- You must be able to reliably commute to Coatbridge.
PLEASE NOTE: You will be required to pass a trade test in our workshop (welding and polishing a test piece in 1.5mm stainless-steel).
Job Location
The majority of our metal work and fabrication is carried out in our Coatbridge workshop (ML5 4FR).
There is occasional travel opportunities to customer sites for scheduled installation work & occasional emergency responses.
Remuneration Package:
- Standard hourly rate up to £20.00 per hour (Dependant On Ability / Experience)

- Standard Hours: Mon to Thurs 07:00 – 16:00 & Fri 07:00 – 11:00 (no less than 38 hours per week)
