Diaphragm pumps operation

Diaphragm Pumps are positive displacement pumps that are simple to work with, safe for use in hazardous environments & ultra-versatile. As they are suitable for a multitude of hygienic and industrial applications, they are deployed in many diverse industrial fluid transfer environments.

There are two versions available on the market:

  1. Air operated double diaphragm pumps (AODD) are powered by an air motor (pneumatic).
  2. Electrically operated double diaphragm pumps (EODD) powered by an electric motor.

For versatility and portability, AODD & EODD pumps are hard to beat. Capable of pumping a range of fluid viscosities (up to approximately 50,000cPs), they are self-priming, they offer strong suction-lift capabilities, they can run dry for limited periods of time and they are easily dismantled and rebuilt when servicing and cleaning. Some hygienic pump models do not need to be dis-assembled as they are self-draining and suitable for CIP (clean-in-place).

Diaphragm pumps are a very common pump type and with suitable applications in every corner of industry, this pump technology is available in many different materials of construction such as stainless-steel, polypropylene, PVDF, aluminium and others.
